Zine Primer:
-
Send cash, not checks. Despite what your mother told you,
send green U.S. money to these magazines. If you must write a
check, leave the payee blank, and bouncing checks isn't
nice.
-
zine rhymes with scene, not sign.
-
In our listing, "+" means it's the first
listing of the zine, otherwise it's a new issue since last
time QZE was published.
-
Check for changed prices and addresses.
-
Don't use the zine name on the envelope if it has
words in it you wouldn't say to your grandma.
-
Write your name, address, and what you want on a piece
of paper. People throw envelopes away.
-
Zine editors are only human, and it may take a while. Try
a SASE with a reminder.
-
Zine editors love mail, including feedback after you get
the zine. Nobody likes a boring one-line request for a zine.
(On the other hand, elaborate requests for information may
result in delays in getting a reply.)
-
See the resource list to help find other genres of zines.
-
Don't put it off. Write and start getting zines
now.
-
An I.R.C. is an international reply coupon. You can get
them at the post office, and they're useful for getting
mail back from people in other countries.
